Using the texts of 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1-11, we will study the lives of Samuel, Saul, David, and Solomon as the story unfolds of Israel’s transition from leadership by judges to a true monarchy. Through their triumphs, failures, faith, and unfaithfulness, we will examine how the condition of the heart, the character of a leader, and faithfulness to God shape both individuals and nations – and discover that God remains sovereign and faithful throughout it all.
